Licensing
Who needs a license?
Everyone who uses Squish needs a license. This is the case whether the usage is of the Squish IDE, or of the command line tools, or of both. There are two kinds of licenses for the two different kinds of testing use:
- Tester License This license is required for users who create, record, edit or modify tests with Squish tools, or who create tests that will subsequently be used with these tools. This license is also required for users who modify or extend Squish itself.
- Runner License This license is required for users who only run tests or process test results with Squish tools. Runner licenses imply the possession of one or more Tester licenses for the creation of the tests that are run.
Each licensee gets access to Squish on all supported platforms.
No additional licenses are needed setting up batch testing or unattended execution of Squish test cases (e.g. nightly runs).
License Models
froglogic offers Named User Licenses and Group Licenses. Click on the tabs above to see more information about each model.
Support & Updates
Each license includes one year of unlimited email support and updates (patchlevel releases, and minor and major releases). After the first year, the support & updates agreement needs to be renewed.
Named User Licensing
Each license is assigned to a specific person (by specifying the full name and email address). Only this person may use the license.
The number of necessary named user licenses is defined by the total number of people who will use Squish.
A single edition (e.g. only Squish for Qt or only Squish for Web) Named User Tester License incl. 1 Year Support & Updates costs €2.400,00.
A single edition Named User Runner License incl. 1 Year Support & Updates costs €450,00.
The annual Support & Updates Subscription for the following years costs €800 per single edition Named User Tester License and €150 per single edition Named User Runner License.
VAT is not included in the prices and will be added where applicable. US Dollar prices will be offered based on the current exchange rate.

Group Licensing
This flexible license model is available to offer a fair pricing in case a whole team shall be able to use Squish but not every team member will use Squish full-time and therefor not require a full named user license.
The pricing for this license model will be calculated based on several factors such as
- Number of total Squish users in the team
- Number of concurrent users of Squish (on average)
In addition special cases such as occasional user can be taken into account for for group licenses.
